Devastated Corrie viewers are taking their guesses at what will happen to Kelly Neelan when she departs the programme. Fan theories are flying as Millie Gibson's character has been at the centre of big storylines recently.
Kelly's exit comes as she was recently rescued by Gary Windass (Mikey North) after getting kidnapped by an evil former associate of her loan shark dad. Things started looking up when she coupled with Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).
But this week Coronation Street, a fake engagement storyline caused a rift as the couple entered a Mr and Mrs competition. When Aadi's sister fumed about him giving Kelly their late mother's ring, Kelly overheard Aadi quickly telling her it was just a sham.
Upset, Kelly took Aadi's car and crashed it, as he realised how much he really did like her. When he found her safe and well, the pair shared a sweet kiss and planned to get engaged for real this time.
However, as Millie is leaving the soap, the Mirror reports fans are convinced their happy ending won't be coming. Viewers are sure they've worked out exactly what storyline will see her exit the show, and it sounds very tragic!
Taking to Twitter, one fan suggested: "It's all gone a bit Romeo and Juliet in Corrie! Don't drink the poison Kelly!!! Star crossed lovers right there, we all know it's not going to end well!," as a second added: "Oh no, just when I was so happy, this will break Aadi. Don't want Kelly to leave, what a phenomenal actress we will see leave the Street. This scene was so lovely last night. #corrie."
A third shared: "Aadi and Kelly are so wonderful and perfect together - i can't believe it's going to be so shortlived with Millie leaving #Corrie," with a fourth writing: "I bet when Kelly gets married on @itvcorrie she gets killed off because she’s leaving Corrie."
"It's alright this is Corrie so something terrible will probably happen which results in Kelly and Aadi not making it up the aisle," a fifth wrote, with a sixth sharing: "No #Corrie wedding goes to plan just saying. With Kelly leaving anyway this won't go well."
A viewer admitted they were devastated that the storyline could end badly, as they loved Kelly and Aadi together.
"Kelly and Aadi are so sweet together but it's such a shame that it's obviously going to end in tears with Kelly being written out," the ITV soap fan penned on Twitter as they gave their thoughts on Kelly's exit.
Sources have teased that Kelly's exit from Coronation Street will be "explosive".
An insider said: "Millie's a huge talent. She has loved her time on the soap but there's a lot of excitement about what she’s going to do next. Everyone has been sworn to secrecy over her exit storyline," the insider said,
"It's going to be explosive. Millie's not even telling people if the door has been left open for her. Gary's managed to keep his involvement in the death secret, but it looks like Kelly will finally discover the truth."
