Coronation Street star Kel Allen has shared her experiences of filming her character Laura's final scenes on the long-running ITV soap.
Laura returned to the cobbles earlier in the year and told her daughter Kelly, played by Millie Gibson, that she was dying and after initially not believing her, the teen became her mum's carer before she moved in with her at Gary and Maria Windass' flat. But last month there was a huge twist when Laura discovered that Gary was responsible for killing her husband Rick, who has been missing since 2019.
As she prepared to go to the police with the information so she could get Rick's money to leave for Kelly when she dies, Laura had a change of heart and confessed to her husband's murder, the Manchester Evening News reports. Kelly is now refusing to see her dying mum in hospital and the guilt is clearly eating away at Gary who continues to visit her.

Speaking to Ranvir Singh on Wednesday's instalment of Lorraine on ITV, Kel said: "Those final days it was literally emotional scenes... big ones. Me and Mikey [who plays Gary], we're normally laughing on set together and everything, but we'd be looking at each other and welling up. All this emotion would come because we knew that these big scenes were coming.
"Filming that scene just then we were just going. We were like someone needs to put a camera on us and film quickly. Production, the crew was crying. We were all just having a little cry over the scenes for Laura and just how sad they are with Kelly, Gary, and everything."
