Young actor Jude Riordan has announced "that's a wrap" for his Coronation Street character Sam Blakeman.
The star, from St Helens, has filmed his final scenes of the year and will return to Weatherfield in 2023. As well as playing Sam in the long-running ITV soap, the 11-year-old also stars in Brassic alongside former Corrie legend Michelle Keegan.
Jude has wowed audiences since joining Coronation Street back in 2020.

His powerful performances have bagged him a number of awards, as well as making him a favourite with fans. A post on Jude's Instagram account, which is run by his family, confirmed he is now about to enjoy a well deserved Christmas break and will return to Weatherfield in the New Year.
A photo of Jude in his blue ITV parka coat was accompanied by the caption: " And that is a WRAP on Sam Blakeman for 2022! What another great year on the cobbles. See you in January 2023 for more shenanigans".
Fans rushed to the comments section to wish Jude well. Susi said: "Have a lovely Christmas you wonderful actor", while Alison said: "Aw have a lovely Christmas Jude you are fabulous in Corrie look forward to seeing you on screen 2023 x".
Caroline said: "Have a great Christmas Jude, looking forward to see what Sam gets upto in the new year". Dave said: "What a grand young man. Merry Christmas"
