Evelyn actress Maureen Lipman said she will be returning to Coronation Street after her "little holiday" in a theatre production.
Maureen, 76, has had an on-off relationship with the show for years, first appearing almost two decades ago as a side character. She returned to pick up her mainstay role as Evelyn Plummer in 2018 but had to take time off following the death of her husband, Guido Castro, in 2021.
Story producers have written the actress out of the show again which has allowed her to pick up a new role on stage. Maureen will be taking on the lead role of Rose in the eponymous theatre production later this month until October.
