Coronation Street's Colson Smith reveals show he'd love to do away from ITV soap and makes first mistake

Coronation Street star Colson Smith has revealed which reality show he'd love to take part in - and he'd be following in the footsteps of many past and present soap stars. However, if he does get the call about appearing on the hit ITV programme, the actor has made his first mistake.

Colson has played now-Weatherfield cop CraigTinker in Corrie since 2011 and last year, fans got to see him in a whole new light as he took part in The Games. The show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, saw 12 celebrities - including Colson - battle it out in a sporting spectacular event across a week of live programmes.

The stars had been trained and coached for the events including diving and weight lifting. But it all came down to the live show where the celebrities racked up points so that at the end of the competition, the contestants with the most points were awarded either a gold, silver or bronze medal with one male champion and one female crowned the winners of The Games.

But Colson, 24, stole hearts when viewers saw how he had learnt to swim specifically for the programme. And despite finishing last in the first race at London's Aquatics Centre, all of the plaudits went to Colson as not only did he only learn to swim a matter of weeks before the live race, he also shaved an impressive 10 seconds off his best time.

And it appears the soap star wants to challenge himself further by taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. Taking part in a Q&A on his Instagram Story, Colson was asked: "What TV shows would you like to do?" and as he travelled from London to Manchester after appearing on This Morning, he typed in reply: "100% the Jungle," adding the Australian flag, palm tree and snake emoji.

However, in an earlier response, Colsonr revealed his phobias as he simply replied to a follower: "SNAKES," alongside the snake emoji. And if he did get the call to jet Down Under and appear on the Ant and Dec-fronted show, there is no doubt he'd be faced with the scaled reptiles.

Earlier this week, Colson appeared on This Morning alongside his Corrie co-star Jack P Shepherd as the pair spoke about their podcast, Sofa Cinema Club, which they host alongside fellow cobbles actor Ben Price. And after seeing the clips of his debut alongside Lisa George, who plays mum Beth Sutherland, the actor admitted he'd had a bit of an issue in the wardrobe department on his first day.

After the cameras cut back to the ITV sofa, Phillip said with a laigh: "The things you learn when you play something like that," before adding: "What did you just say?" Colson then confessed: "In my audition, I couldn't chew chewing gum. I never knew how and I didn't know how to blow a bubble so I spent hours [practising]."

He then revealed: "The jogger bottoms that I wore in that scene are the jogger bottoms I wore to work that day because when I got there, nothing else fit and they were like, 'They're fine! Wear them.'" Colson shocked fans when he revealed his epic 10 stone weight loss for the first time in 2020. Colson completely overhauled his lifestyle and documented his journey in his own YouTube film, Bored Of Being the Fat Kid.
