Charlotte Jordan admitted she has been "emotionally drained" at times during her character's turbulent ordeal on Coronation Street.
The soap star has won acclaim for her portrayal of Daisy Midgeley throughout the hard hitting storyline tackling the effects of stalking. Daisy's life on the Cobbles has been turned upside down since she was targeted by Justin Rutherford.
The villainous character has been jailed after he was found guilty in episodes broadcast last week. However, the trauma of the situation has not gone away as Daisy has developed feelings for Ryan Prescott after he became disfigured by saving her from the acid attack.

The harrowing scenes led to Charlotte bagging a British Soap Award for Best Leading Performer and Best Dramatic Performance. However, the 28-year-old admitted it was challenging to tackle such a tough subject.
She told the ECHO and other press: "The whole second part of the acid attack episode was probably the most emotionally draining just because it was a lot of heavy scenes in a compacted time period so that was probably the toughest to get through. I am normally very good at snapping in and out of character but actually, I remember going home after filming those scenes and feeling really tired. I had zero energy left."
Daisy is in a relationship with Daniel Osbourne but kissed Ryan earlier this month. Spoilers have shown that the two are about to embrace again in next week's episode.
However, Charlotte has revealed Daisy is horrified when Carla Connor returns to the Rovers at this exact moment. The soap star said: "She comes in at the right time to cut it off and metaphorically throw the cold water on Daisy’s face. Daisy is guilt-ridden… for multiple reasons now."
The actor said the character will be concerned that her mistake could lead to the end of her relationship with Daniel. She said: "She’s absolutely terrified that this stable world she has built for herself with Daniel is about to be ripped away from her. It’s a real genuine fear that we say there because she would absolutely be broken if Daniel left her."
Charlotte branded Daisy's interest in Ryan as an "obsession" and shared hopes that her character eventually stays true to Daniel. She said: "Daisy does have a lot in common with Ryan, like similar interests, so if it was a genuine thing that didn't stem from trauma then it could be something quite good. But at the end of the day, that’s not what happens so I think she would be better with Daniel in the long term."
Charlotte kept her cards close to her chest with regards to what comes next but teased that the drama of the love triangle is far from over. She said: "She is going to be very confused about her feelings and we will see her potentially fall in love with two people at once."
