Coronation Street star Andy Whyment has confirmed his future on the soap after leaving I'm A Celebrity... South Africa.
The 42-year-old actor has played Kirk Sutherland on the ITV soap for 23 years.
Andy, who recently called out a campmate for acting 'for the cameras', would have noticed the trend of people leaving their soap roles around their stint on I'm A Celeb in search for pastures new.
Actor Andy left the South African camp alongside Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, in scenes which aired on Monday night.
The pair lost a task against Jordan Banjo and Myleene Klass.
After his exit scenes aired, Andy opened up about the hopes for his career in the future and confirmed if he will continue playing Kirk Sutherland for the foreseeable future.
"I’ve seen a lot of people come and go, thinking they’re going to go on to bigger and better things but Corrie for me is my number one, it always has and always will be," Andy told The Sun.
"I grew up watching it as a kid and when I drive up to those barriers in the morning and they lift them up, I think ‘I'm still working on Coronation Street'.
"If I’d told myself growing up I’d be there 23 years, it’s amazing and touch wood many more years to come."
Andy added how he has a "great work life balance" and he "loves the banter" the cast and crew share on the Weatherfield set.
He added that he has "no intentions of leaving" and added: "I’ll stay in Corrie as long as they’ll have me and hopefully that’ll be many more years to come."
Andy first stepped into the I'm A Celebrity jungle in the 2019 series of the show.
He was a fan favourite and came in second place on his series, as Jacqeuline Jossa was crowned Queen of the Jungle.
Andy joins a number of Corrie stars who have been on I'm A Celebrity... including Sue Cleaver, Simon Gregson, Sair Khan, Antony Cotton and more.
Helen Flanagan, who played Rosie Webster on the cobbles, appeared on the show in 2012 and has also returned to the show in South Africa.
She was known for being terrified of trials in her first sting but was determined to make a change when heading into the South African camp.
During filming for the series, Helen had recently been split from her ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair but kept her engagement ring on.
She explained to OK! magazine: "We’d only just broken up, and I didn’t want everyone to be asking, 'Where’s your ring'."
Helen, who shares three children – Matilda, Charlie and Delilah – with ex Scott, added: "I didn’t want to talk about it… I wanted to keep it private for the kids, I didn’t want to be talking about it on the show. I did find that difficult, because I had all that going on in my head."
