Alexandra Mardell paid a moving tribute to her late dad as she tied the knot at a luxurious ceremony.
The former Coronation Street star married actor, Joe Parker, at the The Tithe Barn in North Yorkshire on March 19. The 29-year-old, renowned for her role as Emma Brooker on the Cobbles, has previously opened up on how her dad, Michael Mardell, died in 2016 from cardiomyopathy aged 54.
Emma told OK! Magazine how she made sure her dad was remembered on the day. She said: "We had a blanket made out of Dad’s shirts and set up on a chair throughout the ceremony. It felt like we had him with us."

Emma and Joe tied the knot in a private ceremony in front of 90 guests, which included Corrie stars, Sair Khan and Charlotte Jordan. She said: "We still meet up regularly for dinners and cocktails. They were really happy to be part of the day."
Joe has also forged a career in showbiz as he played Archie Campbell in Doctors. The two moved in together at the start of 2020 and have gone from strength-to-strength as they got engaged in April 2021. Joe originally intended to propose in Paris, but coronavirus restrictions disrupted travel plans so he popped the question in their kitchen after a romantic meal.
Alexandra told OK!: "We’d finished dinner and were dancing to some Italian music. We started talking about how we’ve been really lucky in lockdown to have had such a nice time together when Joe disappeared. I thought he was going to the toilet, so I started doing the washing-up. When he came back he told me to leave the pans and asked me to dance again. Next thing I know he was down on one knee.
“I’m so excited, I think it’ll be lovely. It’ll be weird and nice to have the same name and to be able to call Joe my husband. I keep calling myself 'Future Mrs Parker' It sounds so mature."
