Coronation Street 's Abi Webster will find herself back in court next week following the sudden death of Imran Habeeb.
New ITV spoilers reveal that former drug addict will learn next week that she has to reapply for custody of Alfie and the hearing is actually taking place the following day.
As Abi (Sally Carman) prepares for her court appearance during next Friday's episode, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) implores her brother Kevin to think carefully before taking on Alfie.
However, Kevin's son Jack overhears their conversation and how Kevin (Michael Le Vell) had an affair with Molly behind Tyrone’s back, resulting in his birth.
Jack struggles to take it all in but wishes Abi and Kevin good luck at the hearing.
Later on in the court waiting room, Abi starts slagging off the judicial system to a woman nearby - unaware of who she actually is.
With the custody hearing about to start, the Judge takes her seat and Abi is horrified to realise it’s the woman she met in the waiting room.
Believing she’s ruined any chance she had of getting custody of baby Alfie, Abi listens as the local authority solicitor lists her failings as a mother and recommends that Alfie remain in care.
Is Abi set to lose Alfie all over again? Or will the fact that she has reunited with her husband Kevin help her redeem herself and prove that she can provide a stable home life for her son?
Despite Alfie being a result of Abi's one night stand with Imran last year, Kevin seems willing to forgive his estranged wife and raise Alfie as if he was his own.
Just last week, he was seen helping Abi try and flee the country with Alfie when Imran and his wife Toyah looked set to be gaining full custody.
However, Abi's plan was rumbled when Imran turned up at the house unexpectedly and found fake passports as well as Abi's packed suitcase.
Just hours later, Imran and Toyah were involved in a car accident on their drive home from the police station - after Imran persuaded Toyah not to report Abi to the authorities.
This week, viewers will see the street reeling in the aftermath of the car crash as they come to terms with Imran's shock death.
