Coronation Street spoilers tease a reconnection for Daniel Osbourne and his ex-girlfriend Bethany Platt this month on the ITV soap.
Bethany left the soap in 2020, and in her absence she's pursued her ambitions for a career in journalism.
In upcoming episodes, it's revealed she's writing for a magazine - and a mention of her leaves Daniel's new girlfriend Daisy Midgeley unnerved.
While it's unlikely Daniel will make contact with Bethany after so long, news of his ex's success does encourage him to start writing again.
So will he get in touch with Bethany for help with this, or will he leave her in the past?
Either way, Daniel talking about his ex doesn't sit right with paranoid Daisy, and the minor mention of her leaves her annoyed and feeling threatened.
Daniel though feels inspired and decides he will start writing again after his own journalism past.
There's no current plans for Bethany to return to the soap, while the door was left open for her when she departed two years ago.
Actress Lucy Fallon recently announced her pregnancy, revealing she and partner Ryan Ledson were expecting their first child.
In October, actress Lucy marked six months of her pregnancy with a sweet photo of her blossoming baby bump, captioned: "Six months of you."
Back to Corrie, and there's panic ahead for Daisy towards the end of the week when she confides in stepmother Jenny Connor about her health.
Daisy reveals that she’s found a lump in her breast, so Jenny urges her to speak with Daniel about it.
Daniel is left shaken by the news but insists he’ll accompany her to the doctors.
Fans will know Daniel lost his wife Sinead Tinker in 2019, after her battle with cervical cancer.
The news about Daisy sends Daniel spiralling and he struggles before Daisy has even seen a doctor, with Daniel soon getting drunk.
As Jenny berates Daniel for his behaviour at the pub when he should be with Daisy at the medical centre, Daniel announces that Daisy might have cancer.
Soon, Daniel staggers out but his brother Peter Barlow persuades him that alcohol isn’t the answer and that Daisy needs him.
Daisy is upset as she waits at the medical centre alone, and ends up going in by herself.
But they’re interrupted when Daniel throws open the door and staggers in drunk, leaving her mortified.
Will Daniel be able to get himself sorted so that he can be there for Daisy, or will she push him away?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
