Coronation Street fans worry for Max's future during emotional call to dad David

Coronation Street fans are questioning Max Turner's future following erratic behaviour in Wednesday's episode.

Max (Paddy Bever) is currently serving time at a Young Offenders centre after being involved in the related to the horror stabbing attack on the soap last month.

Max’s former crony Blake Myers, who fell in with Max in evil Griff's (Michael Condron) gang as part of a dangerous far right storyline, was seen at the centre of extreme violence in Speed Daal.

Actor Adam Little has exited the ITV soap amid the major racial violence story, after his character’s final scenes aired as Blake was sentenced for the vicious stabbing of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) as well as the attempted murder of councillor Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).

During the most recent episode, Max's wellbeing worried fans which has led to them thinking the youngster could being departing the cobbles in the near future.

Max made an emotional plea on the phone for dad David (Jack P Shepherd), sister Lily and step-mum Shona to come and visit him at the Young Offenders centre following a brutal encounter with Alya, who visited him on Wednesday.

Alya was asked by David to visit Max so he could apologise for his role in the shocking incident, but she had other ideas.

She said: "It's not that I don't believe you, I just don't care. All I care about is you lost. You're stuck in here, your mate Griff is going to get life.

"Blake might have been the one to stab me but you handed him the knife."

Max's phone call is a far cry from previous conversations with his adoptive dad, who he had urged not to visit him.

This change in behaviour has got viewers thinking the youngster could be thinking of taking his own life and that the family gathering could be a final goodbye.

David Platt had asked Alya to visit Max, who rang his adoptive dad in an emotional phone call the following day (ITV)

One fan wrote on Twitter : "I am worried Max is going to do something silly like kill himself."

A second added: "I've a horrible feeling Max will try to commit suicide. #corrie."

A third viewer commented: "Mad Max needs to be on suicide watch," while another replied: "I hope Max isn’t planning on killing himself and he wants to say goodbye to them all for the last time."

Coronation Street continues to air every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
