Coronation Street fans startled over 'rare sighting' on ITV soap

Coronation Street fans were left startled after after spotting a rarely-seen character on the ITV soap.

This week, Nicky Wheatley has been left devastated after her past as a sex worker was exposed, leading her to lose her job as an assistant teacher at the school, the Manchester Evening News reports.

She has since moved in with teacher and ex-boyfriend Daniel Osbourne, much to the fury of his ex Daisy Midgeley.

Nicky, played by Kimberly Hart-Simpson, returned to the cobbles earlier this year as she hoped to provide a better life for her daughter.

Yet, just as she started progressing in her career, David's nasty son Max shared images and videos of her online, prompting her past to be spread around school.

She was left mortified after being hauled into Mrs Crawshaw's office after the Gazette ran a story on her and she was brutally fired.

On Wednesday, viewers were shocked to spot Daniel and his son Bertie, who he had with late wife Sinead before her tragic death from cancer.

Viewers were previously left puzzled after noting that they rarely saw Daniel's son and wondered where he was.

But fans finally managed to catch a rare glimpse of Bertie sporting a cute bowl haircut and took to Twitter to comment.

One tweeted: "Bertie!!! Unless it’s just some young lad standing by a post box ! #Corrie."

While another commented: "IT'S BERTIE, WE HAVE A SIGHTING OF BERTIE! THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT WE HAVE SEEN BERTIE! #Corrie."

A third wrote: "My god, Bertie is actually in a scene! Was beginning to think we’d never see him again #corrie."

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV
