Coronation Street fans are calling for a character to return in the wake of horrific scenes that saw Ryan Connor doused with acid.
On Monday, as Daisy prepared herself to marry long-term partner Daniel Osbourne, things took a terrifying turn for the Weatherfield barmaid. As she and Ryan Connor were about to leave the pub to set off for her wedding, Justin appeared from the shadows, holding a glass of clear liquid.
As he lurched towards her with the acid, Ryan jumped into the way, taking most of the acid across his face and shoulder.

The latest Corrie instalment saw Ryan lying bandaged in a hospital bed. His ex-girlfriend Alya, along with her gran Yasmeen, Daisy and Daniel, waited for medical staff to tell them they could see him.
But when they were finally allowed, Alya was told to go away. Ryan said he didn't want to see anyone, or have anyone look at him.
Soap fans watching at home were left saddened by the scene, with many wondering why Michelle Connor wasn't there. Taking to Twitter, @chippytea_ said: "The saddest thing about Ryan's attack is that he has no family on the street at all. We need Michelle!"
Sharon said: "Surely Michelle would’ve come back to see her son?!", while Janey said: "Where's Michelle? Surely she should be there".
Later scenes saw viewers told Michelle couldn't visit Ryan as she was "having an operation", but this just led to more speculation. Many demanded a different character altogether comes back, because while Michelle brought Ryan up, he was actually accidentally swapped at birth.
Cheryl said: "We obviously aren't getting Kym Marsh but what about Ryan's biological (for those who remember)?", and Rach said: "Ryan's 'real' mum is going to come back isn't she?"
James said: "Remind me people… is Ryan the blood son of Michelle or the one she brought up?"
