Coronation Street fans think Stephen Reid will target Jenny Connor amid his plan to get money from those in Weatherfield.
Viewers learned this week that Stephen's money issues were much bigger than they thought, as he was seen purchasing clothes from a charity shop and claiming to have only £20 in his wallet.
Ahead of upcoming scenes that will expose a possible past scam, Stephen has been trying to get his hands on his mother Audrey Roberts' money.
With this not going to plan, the latest episode left many viewers convinced he had a new target.
Stephen shared a kiss with The Rovers landlady and owner Jenny during Friday's visit to the cobbles, as she got drunk after drama with partner Leo.
Prior to this, Stephen had failed to convince his niece Sarah to invest in his fake business projects, with it unlikely factory owner Carla Connor would either.
Sarah had then let slip to Stephen that Jenny was the sole owner as well as the landlady of the pub, and it seemed he had an idea judging by the look on his face.
He soon went over to her and spun her a line of compliments to try and reel her in, before having a drink with her as she continued to knock the wine back.
Jenny invited him to join her in the back room as they drunkenly flirted, and it wasn't long before they were passionately kissing.
Viewers knew exactly what Stephen was up to though, as Jenny was about to lead him upstairs only for them to be caught out by Gemma who stopped them going any further, as Leo was preparing to propose to Jenny.
Taking to Twitter, viewers predicted Stephen would now blackmail Jenny for money, in exchange for staying silent on their intimate moment.
One viewer said: "Slimy Stephen will probably try and blackmail Jenny now."
Another agreed: "Now for Stephen's next money making scheme....blackmailing Jenny."
A third added: "Bet stephen tries to bribe jenny," as a fourth wrote: "Will Stephen blackmail Jenny now."
It comes as news about Audrey's will, and Stephen's true money struggles, led to many viewers predicting a shock death might air.
Taking to Twitter, fans believe Stephen's debt is so huge that he might go to a horrifying extent to steal Audrey's money.
After she revealed her recent suicide attempt to her loved ones, fans questioned if Stephen might kill his own mum and make it look as though she has taken her own life.
One viewer tweeted: "Stephen the snake is going to kill Aud by poisoning her and make it look like she’s taken another overdose."
Another said: "I thought the same," as a third tweeted: "Stephen buying a burner suit before he kills Audrey."
A fourth fan commented: "Stephens going to kill Audrey before she gets a chance to make a new will! Make it look like another overdose."
