Coronation Street will air concern for Adam Barlow on Wednesday night, before he tells a shocking death lie.
The character is struggling to cope with recent events, after being set up by manipulative ex Lydia Chambers.
After weeks of Lydia setting up her ex Adam with a fake affair, in order to destroy his marriage to Sarah, things take a worrying turn.
Lydia set out to destroy his life, and it seems it will soon be revealed what went on in their past - leading to a devastating and deadly plunge for Adam that leaves him fighting for his life.
This week, viewers will see Adam still struggling to prove his innocence after Lydia planted evidence in his flat, that led to Sarah believing he was cheating on her.
Adam is still not living in the flat and only has a few people on his side, so after the recent decision to step back from his job due to him being reported, by Lydia, he is feeling pretty down in the dumps.
But he tells an awful lie as he flirts with someone in the pub in Wednesday's episode, claiming to have suffered a recent tragic loss.
He claims his wife Sarah is dead after a car crash, while Sarah is obviously very much alive.
As his uncle Daniel Osbourne arrives, after girlfriend Daisy rings him to tell him Adam has hit the bottle, he's stunned to find the state of him.
Daniel soon explains to the stunned woman that Adam has lied and his wife is very much living.
But it doesn't stop Adam's boozing as he continues to knock the drinks back and tells Daniel he's heading into town.
Next week Adam fights for his life, as his feud with Lydia leads to him being shoved off a balcony by her.
The storyline is coming to an end with "exciting" scenes ahead, and next week it looks as though the truth about Lydia's lies will finally come out.
But what does this mean for Adam and Sarah, and will she believe him after all?
Adam faces losing his sight in the accident and is rushed into emergency surgery, but Corrie has yet to confirm his fate.
