Corn Pushes Higher to Close August, as Conditions Slip

United States CmdtyView Crop Progress

Corn futures rounded out August with contracts up 1 to 3 1/2 cents on the session. There were 90 deliveries issued against September corn on First Notice Day. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price was back up 3 1/2 cents at $4.93 1/2.

This week’s Crop Progress report showed 62% of the US corn crop in the dough stage by August 30, with 62% dented and 13% listed as mature. Condition ratings were steady this week at 47% in good to excellent condition, as the Brugler500 index slipped another point to 347 on a 1 point move from excellent to good.
