Cork firefighters tackle large blaze at derelict building by the marina

Fire crews from Cork City’s blue watch have been attending a blaze at the former R+H Hall offices down by the marina.

At 2.15am on Wednesday morning (November 23), following a busy few hours for firefighters, five units responded to a report of a well-developed fire at the derelict building, with thick smoke drifting towards Blackrock. It took around three hours for the blaze to be quelled, with crews then having the job of dampening down to ensure all flames were extinguished.

Several images caught the enormity of the blaze, with smoke and flames filling the night sky around the marina part of the city.
