Cops in 'extensive' search for missing Scots man after 'out of character' disappearance

Police searching for an East Renfrewshire man have now appealed to the public for help as the search goes into its second day.

Charles McCallum was last seen at his home address in Cartside Road, Busby, around 5pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022, and has not been in contact with his family since.

The 64-year-old is is described as 5ft 11ins, of medium build with receding white/grey hair.

When last seen he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey woolly jumper, dark coloured jacket and black shoes with a velcro fastening.

Inspector Ryan Curran from Cathcart Police station said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about Charles as he has not been in contact with his family since Sunday and this is out of character.

“Police Officers in the area are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace his whereabouts and any places frequented since last seen.

"There has been a very positive response from the local community to our enquiries this far. I ask for their continued support as we progress our enquiries to trace Charles.

“I would ask anyone who has seen Charles or knows where he may be to contact us. I would also appeal directly to Charles to say that if he sees this message, to get in touch and let us know he is safe and well.”

The public are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2961 of Sunday, 20 February, 2022 with any information which may assist the investigation.
