Cops arrest four in south Delhi for thrashing two in Holi brawl

NEW DELHI: Four people have been arrested for allegedly stabbing two brothers following a brawl on Holi in south Delhi’s Aya Nagar. The victims were stabbed when they protested against the accused for allegedly creating nuisance in the area. They were arrested from a toll plaza near Meerut, when they were fleeing, police said.

The accused have been identified as Manish Lohia alias Rinkal (29), Pawan alias Pannu (30), both active members of Rohit Choudhary gang and previously involved in three criminal cases each, Pawan Patil (32) and Rambeer Singh (60).

A knife that was used to attack the two brothers has been recovered, police said.

A call was received at Fatehpur Beri police station reporting that two men had been stabbed. A police team reached the spot and found that both the injured people had been taken to a hospital. Based on their statement, a case of attempt to murder was registered.

“CCTV cameras were scanned and the victims and their family members were also questioned. The team found his location and Lohia, Pannu and Patil were arrested from a toll plaza between Meerut and Muzzafarnagar,” said a senior police officer. Later, Singh was also arrested for abetment.
