In recent years, fashion designers have proven that shows don't have to be held on a runway in your average Manhattan studio hub. Jacquemus held its 15th anniversary collection at Capri's Casa Malaparte, Christian Dior took over the Brooklyn Museum to show its pre-fall pieces and Hermes used New York City's Pier 36 for its Fall 2024 show. The latest brand to join the trend? Coperni.
This October, the French fashion brand known for its Swipe bags and brilliant brand collaborations will stage its Paris Fashion Week show at a venue that's simply second to none, Disneyland Paris. Similar to the drive-in fashion show during the pandemic, founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant are doing it big with the classic amusement park as their runway.
Outside of their creative motivation, the choice of venue will be a childhood dream fulfilled. "Growing up in the south of France, Disneyland Paris has always been a dream destination and a huge source of inspiration," the two wrote in a joint Instagram post. "From the movies to the characters, the rides but also the resort hotels, Disneyland Paris is all about entertainment and emotion. We are working closely with the Disney teams to create a magical moment to share with all of you."
Meyer and Vaillant promise that the show will be a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" and the first time Disneyland Paris has hosted a show during fashion week. The experience is set to take place around 10:00 p.m. local time in the park's Fantasyland area, inspired by the entertainment company's legendary cast of princesses.
"Of course, we'll be giving it the Coperni touch so we'll be approaching it in a cool, contemporary, innovative and tech-savvy way, but we always like to evolve the style of the Coperni woman," Vaillant said. With such intricate plans, we expect the guest list to be just as extravagant.
