Copenhagen Fashion Week makes its return to the Danish capital this week with its autumn/ winter 22 instalment of runway shows. The streets of the city are awash with neon brights, billowing dresses and fashion folk wearing sunglasses in the torrential rain. It’s a joy to behold.
Among all the fashion weeks, Copenhagen – which schedule includes the likes of Malene Birger, Baum und Pfergarten, d(i)vision and Saks Potts – has a reputation for runways bursting with lively, technicolour designs - and its street style scene is no exception.
The Nordic style set brought their cold weather dressing A-game yesterday, as they braved icy winds and bouts of snow to attend the first day of shows. Balaclavas and Moon Boots were a popular choice, as were mittens and Prada’s colourful leather gloves.
The outerwear game was particularly strong, with leather trench coats, neon bright furs and varsity jackets among the best. Balenciaga’s Hourglass bag popped up in neon brights and snakeskin prints, while others have embraced the new trend for supersize furry totes.
The sun is set to appear as the three-day event rolls on, so we look forward to seeing how the Scandi fashionistas style out some warmer climes.
