NSW Police is down a senior constable after they were accused of having cocaine on them while off-duty.
The 31-year-old had been attached to a southwest Sydney command until this week when they were linked to a drug investigation.
It was sparked by the seizure of a small plastic bag, containing suspected cocaine in a licensed premises in Pyrmont early on Easter Sunday.
After it was handed to police, inquiries led officers to allege the bag fell from the pocket of the unnamed off-duty senior constable.
The officer, whose gender is unknown, was on Thursday served with a court attendance notice for the offence of possessing a prohibited drug.
The charge will be first heard at Downing Centre Local Court on May 22.
The officer has resigned from the force.
