Cop hunt three suspects after 39-year-old is seriously injured in Edinburgh attack

Police in Edinburgh have released CCTV of three men after a serious assault in the city centre.

The incident happened at around 3.30am on Saturday, September 24, on South Clark Street when a 39-year-old was badly hurt as he was knocked to the ground.

Police are particularly keen to talk to one of the three who was pictured wearing a grey sweatshirt at the time of the attack. He is described as having dark hair, a large build and approximately 5ft 8in tall and aged around 18 or 19.

Police say the victim is still struggling top cop after the attack.

Detective Sergeant Adam Brown from the CID at Gayfield Police Station said: "This was an unprovoked assault which resulted in the victim sustaining an injury with a protracted recovery period and has significantly disrupted his daily life since.

"Anyone who recognises any of the males or who witnessed the assault is urged to get in touch as soon as possible."
