A now-former police officer accused of killing a Sydney couple is yet to enter a plea to double murder charges as his lawyer admits things are "a bit tough" right now.

Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies, 29, and his TV presenter partner Jessie Baird, 26, died in Sydney's east when Beaumont Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot them with his service weapon while off-duty in February.
