Following his historic season in 2021, Cooper Kupp was widely viewed as one of the best players in the NFL. He was the Offensive Player of the Year, Super Bowl MVP and put together one of the best seasons ever by a wide receiver, leading the NFL in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
It landed him a spot at No. 4 on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list for 2022, the highest-ranked receiver in the league. But heading into the upcoming season, Kupp is ranked much lower on the player-voted list.
It was revealed on Monday that Kupp is ranked 47th in the NFL for 2023, down 43 spots from last season. It’s his third time appearing on the top-100 list, coming in at No. 89 in 2020.
The reason for Kupp’s lower ranking is simply that he missed significant time last season with an ankle injury. In the eight games that he played with Matthew Stafford, he averaged nine receptions and 101.6 yards, scoring six touchdowns. That put him on a pace to catch nearly 200 passes and gain more than 1,600 yards.

Kupp will be fully healthy before Week 1 and is already participating fully in practice during training camp, so he’s poised for a bounce-back season after missing eight games in 2022. There just aren’t 46 players better than Kupp right now.
