Cooper Kupp doesn’t feel 100%, calls injury trouble ‘very frustrating’

Cooper Kupp is one of the best receivers in the NFL when healthy. Unfortunately, staying healthy has been difficult for him to do throughout his career. He’s missed several games over the course of his time with the Rams, including the first four contests of this season due to a hamstring injury.

Kupp is now coming off a sprained ankle suffered last week against the Seahawks and while he’ll play on Sunday in Arizona, he’s not 100% healthy.

“I’m feeling good. Obviously, don’t feel a hundred percent but that’s football at this point in the season anyways so it’s something we’re handling,” Kupp said.

Between his season-ending ankle injury last year, the hamstring strain to start this season and now the sprained ankle, Kupp is growing frustrated with all his ailments. Sean McVay has often said how bad he feels for guys who get hurt after working so hard week in and week out, and that’s certainly the case for Kupp.

Injuries are almost inevitable, but Kupp’s missed significant time for a variety of issues, none of which he can control.

“Yeah, it does,” he said of whether he feels like he’s been dealing with one injury after another. “And so, yeah, it’s been very frustrating. Kind of dating back even just to how last year went. Yeah, it’s frustrating but it’s unfortunately part of the game. You play enough snaps, you’re going to get hurt and hopefully I’ve done enough over the last year and a half to buy myself some time moving forward.”

The good news is he’ll be available for Sunday’s pivotal game against the Cardinals. The bad news is he probably won’t be 100% healthy, but even at 90%, Kupp is better than most other receivers.
