Edinburgh has been named the fourth coolest city in the UK by an influential travel website.
The capital beat out the likes of Manchester, Belfast and Bristol on the list of the '10 coolest places to live in the UK' by the experts at Nomad's Nation (NN), a top YouTube travel channel.
Only London, Brighton and Portsmouth placed higher, with Edinburgh described as a "hearty city" that's ideal for travellers and tourists who like a "hefty helping of local culture".
No other Scottish cities made the list.
Overall, their review of the city is pretty spot on, however, some of the pros and cons are... questionable.

While pros such as "beautiful city to wander" and "so much history" might make sense, we aren't so sure about the cons listed.
"Cold pretty much all year round", just seems like a straight-out lie – we know our summers can be, well, short, but we do get warm weather for a large part of the year.
And "might want a big city feel" just feels a bit like an insult, as Edinburgh is as bustling and busy as any of the big English cities or even bigger Scottish ones like Glasgow.

The rest of the review is pretty glowing, with the NN writing team highlighting the Old Town (or Auld Toun as they weirdly call it), "a higgledy-piggledy place to wander", and Leith, which is described as a good place to live and for a party.
Other places and events they pick out include the New Town, which they say is filled with buildings that are "beautiful, soaring masterpieces" and the Fringe Festival, which they describe as "one of the United Kingdom’s best events".
They finish off with a recommendation for The Melting Pot, which is their tip as a good place for you to sit with your laptop for a few hours and become part of the local community.
