Contract details, salary cap breakdown for DL L.J. Collier

At the end of last week, the Arizona Cardinals reached and agreement on a one-year contract for potential unrestricted free agent defensive end L.J. Collier that is very similar to the deal he signed in 2023.

Collier earned a starting job in training camp, but was lost for the season because of a torn pectoral muscle suffered in the opener against the Commanders.

Last year at this time, after playing his first four seasons with the Seahawks, he signed a one-year deal worth $1,232,500 that included a signing bonus of $76,250.

L.J. Collier contract details

The contract Collier signed this year is worth $1,292,500, which includes a base salary of $1.125 million, a $25,000 signing bonus and per-game roster bonuses of $8,382 that will total $142,500 if he plays all a1l 17 games.

Salary cap implications

As a one-year qualifying contract, only $985,000 of the base salary counts against the cap. The $25,000 is added to that along with $8,382 because he played that one game last season and results in a cap charge of $1,018,382.

If he plays more than one game in 2024, each $8,382 will be charged to the Cardinals cap in 2025.
