Conor Ryan and Ben Williams plan to box again after raising thousands for charity

Dublin influencers Conor Ryan and Ben Williams plans to box again after raising thousands for charity.

Conor and Ben hosted a hugely successful evening of boxing back in August, raising thousands for charity. The two were the main event on the evening, jumping into the ring to face off against each other after six undercard events.

In addition to the boxing, there were DJs on hand to provide the tunes between fights. The event saw Conor and Ben raise an impressive €5,300 for Shannon’s Hope Line, an organisation dedicated to helping young people with mental health struggles.

The charity was set up in memory Shannon Kelleher, one of the founder's daughter who died of suicide in 2012. The services it offers includes low cost counselling and workshops as well of a range of other activities to engage young people.

Run by sisters Sandra Kelleher and Lisa Kelleher, Shannon's Hope Line's mission is to educate young people and their families in the Dublin area on the importance of looking after their mental health, helping to equip them with tools they can use before the get to crisis point. Speaking to Dublin Live about the boxing event, which was attended by over a thousand people with more watching online, Conor revealed that he plans to host another event towards the end of the year.

The Buddy Cup owner told Dublin Live: "We had a big circus tent at the Red Cow Inn and it was just an amazing event. We wanted to pick a small charity to give money to. Shannon's Hope Line is an amazing charity which is run by two sisters.

"They came along on the night to enjoy it."

Conor added that he was delighted to raise the money they did with the event, and that he is looking to organise it again in the future to raise funds for an important cause.

A date for the next fight is yet to be announced. Tickets will be available through Eventbrite, and Conor will post links to tickets on his social media channels once they become available.
