Conor McGregor trolls Harry Styles over singer's bold outfit at Grammy Awards

Conor McGregor has joked Harry Styles looked like a freestyle wrestler in his bold outfit at the Grammy Awards.

The former One-Direction star who has since gone solo, was present at the high-profile Grammy awards ceremony in Los Angeles this week where he won the huge best album award. Styles has become known for his iconic fashion since gracing the music industry where he is known to sport a whole range of luxury outfits including skirts and dresses.

When gracing the red carpet Styles wore a multi-coloured sleeveless singlet with flared legs, which attracted the attention of UFC superstar McGregor on social media. When asked by a fan what Styles' latest fashion choice reminded him of, McGregor replied: "Freestyle wrestling haha."

In freestyle wrestling, fighters regularly wore singlets without sleeves baring an open chest, which appeared extremely similar to the top half of Styles' look. McGregor also sees himself as a model for luxury fashion, where he regularly sports designer suits, shirts and watches.

However McGregor's comments appear to have upset Styles' cult-like following around the world, who criticised the Irishman on social media and defend their favourite musician's choice. The Irishman has been a busy man on social media particularly since his absence from the UFC after breaking his leg in July 2021.

However a new dawn will begin this year, with McGregor announcing his comeback will take place against Michael Chandler in the UFC's latest instalment of The Ultimate Fighter. The pair will coach a team of fighters in opposing camps, before renewing their battle themselves in the octagon following the conclusion of the series.

The fight is expected to take place at 170lb following McGregor's decision to bulk up during his recovery, which has seen him show off a new ripped physique. Chandler has broke his silence since the news was announced, and is hugely excited to get his opportunity at handing another blow to the promotion's biggest star.

"Conor is the fight that I wanted, he has expressed interest in wanting to fight me and now here we are," Chandler said on his YouTube channel. "The competition starts right now. We're going to be stuck together in the same city for a month, or month and a half, but the competition is 24/7 the entire time. I want to win this thing; I don't want to beat Conor later this year, I want to beat Conor badly on TUF. I don't even want him to win a fight.

"I cannot wait, this is something that I have wanted to do forever. I've wanted to take off the fighter cap and put on the coaching cap, to usher these young men and women into the opportunity of a lifetime. I get the opportunity to coach a handful of them, so now we build the hype and competition."
