Conor McGregor's niece pictured at Old Trafford after UFC star's interest in buying Manchester United

Conor McGregor's niece was pictured at Old Trafford on Friday after the UFC star claimed he was interested in buying Manchester United.

Taylor McGregor took in a tour at the 'The Theatre of Dreams' and shared a number of photos on her Instagram story.

The daughter of Conor's sister Erin uploaded snaps of the pitch, dressing room and trophy room as went on the tour with a friend.

Her uncle first declared his interest in purchasing the Premier League club last May, while also claiming to be interested in buying Celtic.

He tweeted: "A conversation came up regarding Celtic first to be honest. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond. I am certainly interested in acquiring a sports team at some stage!

"Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like for sure. But I am open. I feel I could do big things for a club."

Despite it quickly becoming clear that McGregor, who has been named the world's highest earning athlete by Forbes, would not be able to afford United, he again claimed last month that he was interested in buying a football club after Chelsea was put up for sale.

He said: "I do not speak in jest. I am exploring this, as I said. Celtic from Dermot Desmond, Manchester United from the Glaziers, and now the recently up for sale Chelsea football club.

"All being explored. A football franchise purchase is in my future make no mistake about it.

"Everyday I ball. How wouldn't I lead a team of young, dedicated athletes to glory? I'm perfect for the job. Pray it's your team."

McGregor previously revealed in an interview with FIFA.com that he grew up a United fan.

He commented: "“I was more a player than a watcher back then, but Manchester United was my team.

"It was only the other day I came across an old picture of myself wearing that infamous grey United jersey, which I bought with my [First Holy] Communion money at eight years of age.

"I see my son when I look at that photo. I’d love to know where it is now. A truly ‘Notorious’ football jersey!

“I was attracted to the success and winning mentality of the club and people surrounded by United.

"Irish legends like Denis Irwin and Roy Keane were dedicated to their craft and had that winning mentality. Roy Keane was one of the best midfielders European football has ever seen. Opponents would be mentally beaten before they’d even stepped on to the pitch to face him.

“Then they had the don of football at the helm, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

"To have that much success over such a long period is remarkable and something I continue to aspire to. And he did it by nurturing youngsters into stars and not by spending and spending and spending like some of these other managers.

"It’s been great to see Sir Alex getting back to full health and continuing to be at the United games. What passion! I wish him and his family all the best."
