Conor McGregor's mother has denied wearing blackface while celebrating Halloween with the UFC star after accusations from fans.
The Irishman showed off a rare clean shaven look on social media as he dressed up as a pilot alongside wife Dee Devlin for the party on Monday night.
His mother Margaret joined the party, alongside sister Erin and her family with McGregor posting images of the night on his Instagram account.
But Margaret has faced a backlash after being accused of painting her face dark black while wearing a cave woman costume at The Black Forge Inn in Dublin - with the family insisting it was spiders painted on to her face.
She is seen wearing a red patterned dress alongside a necklace with three skulls on it.
Erin also shared a video of her mum in costume, saying: "Mad Magzer loving the Halloween vibe".
Instagram user Elijah Johnson commented on McGregor's post, asking: "Come on bruh we still doing blackface in 2022?"
Zac Hary added: "We just gunna ignore the black face? Disgusting." Louise Inglis also responded: "That’s his Ma, and yeah it’s absolutely shocking."
But Mrs McGregor has denied the claims - with Conor's representatives telling The Mirror: "The McGregor family loves Halloween. Mrs McGregor had spiders painted on her face since her costume was a ghoul risen from the grave.
"Any other interpretation was just wrong and truly unfortunate."
McGregor has paid tribute to his mother, who turned 63 earlier this year, throughout his UFC career.
She joined him in the octagon following his victory over Chad Mendes in 2015 to claim the interim UFC featherweight title, kissing the Irishman on the forehead.
Speaking on his mother in 2020, McGregor said: "I have been very proud of my mother recently and she was actually going through some things and she came through it with flying colours and now she's like a completely new woman.
"What she did was she led by example. I saw my mother in the great light she was in and I was in awe of it."
