You didn’t think Conor McGregor would just let Joe Rogan take a shot at him without giving one back, did you?
On a recent episode of his “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Spotify, the popular UFC commentator made it very clear that he believes McGregor has been using performance-enhancing drugs while out of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency program for several months and not tested all year.
“He’s taking his shirt off and posing constantly, and he looks like his piss would melt that USADA cup,” Rogan said. “Like, it would just like burn a hole right through the bottom of that USADA cup. … The weird thing is that there is a loophole in USADA that allows you to get out of the testing pool. You can get out of the testing pool and just juice up.”
In response, McGregor took a shot at Rogan on social media, accusing him of using PEDs. McGregor’s post included side-by-side photos of a shirtless Rogan, show how muscular he was at age 25 compared to 52. Rogan is 55 now.
“Joe looks like his piss melts his knickers,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “In the company that long and never took a fight hahaha @ufc oh tae kwon do competition, call the cops hahahahaah.”
USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner, recently confirmed that McGregor is out of the testing pool and not being tested for prohibited substances. While McGregor, 34, has indicated he’s done so for therapeutic reasons to properly recover from a broken tibia sustained in his July 2021 trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier, being granted such permission has raised concerns from other UFC fighters – especially as, noted by Rogan, McGregor continuously shows off his bulked-up physique on social media.
McGregor, who’s 1-3 in his past four fights, will have to spend at least six months in the USADA program before he fights again for the UFC. It’s expected that the earliest he could return would be in the summer, possibly during International Fight Week in July.
