Conor McGregor's fans have jokingly queried whether the UFC superstar has had plastic surgery after he sported a new look.
The UFC superstar has been out of the action for almost two years since breaking his leg in defeat by Dustin Poirier in 2021. But the Irishman has stepped up his comeback following the announcement of his long-awaited return fight against Michael Chandler this year as part of the promotion's latest series of The Ultimate Fighter.
McGregor was in Las Vegas last weekend to film the coaching part of the series, where both fighters will go head-to-head in competition. He also attended UFC heavyweight Jon Jones' comeback fight against Cyril Gane with Jones choking out his rival become the new champion.
A video was posted by the UFC of McGregor and Chandler giving their predictions for the UFC 285 main event, with McGregor continuing to sport a new look in recent weeks ahead of his return. And fans were quick to burst into life in the comments, with one suggesting: "Conor looks like he got plastic surgery or something."
Another quickly agreed: "Looks like Conor got botox done." One fan wrote: "Did Conor have work done to his face?". A viewer ever joked: "Mythical fighter unlocked 'Conor McGregor clone'.” One even became uncertain if McGregor had been generated by AI technology, adding: "Don’t know if that’s a real or AI generated McGregor.”
A fan added: "Conor really is starting to look old now." Whereas one commenter completely disagreed with the theory, adding: "He looks better than last year." A final fan was left annoyed by McGregor's prediction, concluding: "I will pay whatever the pay-per-view price just to watch Conor get his mouth shut."

McGregor's look is already vastly different given he has piled on the pounds since his rehabilitation began, showing off a new muscular frame. It is expected that this will see his upcoming fight with Chandler land at 170lb, where he could look to shoot up the division and challenge for a title with a win.
The Irishman's last win came against Donald Cerrone in 2020, but he will need to breathe new life into his UFC career given that is his only win in his last four fights. And the 34-year-old is confident that he possesses the skill set to dismiss his rival when the pair finallyy agree a fight date.
"I think I'm going to slice through him," McGregor told The Mac Life of his American rival. "I think I'm a little too slicey for him than anyone else he's fought. A little too snappy and whippy and I think I'll slice through him. Just having a buzz with him, he's a nice boy. . I think he's a good fighter. He's more of an athlete type of a guy than a technical martial artist. I know he’s got some skills in the wrestling department and he’s got some skills overall. As far as the small, finer details, I’m interested to see."
