Conor McGregor earned $33 million for five minutes of UFC action between May 2021 - May 2022.
During that time, 'The Notorious' fought just once. That was in a losing effort to Dustin 'The Diamond Poirier' back in the Summer of 2021.
McGregor hasn't fought since he suffered a horrendous leg injury in that loss to Poirier. It is now almost 18 months since he last fought, and isn't expected to fight until the summer of 2023.

McGregor has obviously learned the news that he tops the list and has taken to Instagram to comment on his achievement.
Posting a photo showing himself, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Cristiano Ronaldo next to their earnings per minute, McGregor cheekily wrote, "Grafters the lads are, fair play."
Research conducted by the OLBG sport betting company states that McGregor earned $33 million dollars for his defeat to Dustin Poirier, a fight that lasted just a single round.
Breaking that figure down further reveals that it takes McGregor just nine seconds to earn $1 million. To put that in context, the athlete that earns a million dollars in the second shortest space of time in Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.
The Mexican boxer earned $1 million every 43 seconds between May 2021 and May 2022. This timeframe includes fights with Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant.
