Conor McGregor "can't believe" he's being paid to film Hollywood movie

UFC star Conor McGregor has admitted he "can't believe" he's being paid to film a Hollywood remake of Road House.

McGregor, 34, is currently in the Dominican Republic completing his filming duties for his role in the remake of the 1989 action film, which featured blockbuster stars such as Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott. The remake will star Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Jake Gyllenhall, who is known for his appearances in films such as Nightcrawler and Brokeback Mountain.

It's unclear how much McGregor is being paid for his role in the film, but the UFC star is seemingly grateful to just have the chance to make his Hollywood debut as he wrote on Instagram : "Whole crew in tow, the loves of my life! My other two kids are at the beach with Nanny Mandy. God bless Hollywood I can’t believe they paying me for this."

McGregor and his family will spend the next few days on set in the Dominican Republic before he returns to Ireland to continue his comeback journey. 'Notorious' broke his leg during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July last year and his comeback date is uncertain as he is yet to have a full sparring session.

The former two-weight champion has packed on a considerable amount of weight having been restricted to upper body workouts to allow his compromised leg to heal. After already winning featherweight and lightweight titles for the UFC and Cage Warriors, McGregor feels that his next challenge should be becoming a three-weight world champion by challenging for the welterweight title.

Fans have voiced their concern for the UFC star as one wrote "Bro are you alright?" While another added: "Conor bro, you've lost the plot." A third fan also asked McGregor "You ok our kid?" With another declaring that he was "off his barnet again".

McGregor also posted a voice memo of him repeating the phrase "the most power Twitter's ever seen" in 10 different accents, which included impressions of Micky Mouse and Christopher Lee. He then shared a selfie with a caption declaring himself as an "action star" and noted that he would "box your jaw in at the Box office". McGregor even responded to a user who asked him "what are you using?" by declaring that he was drinking his own brand of alcohol, Proper 12 whiskey and Forged Irish Stout.
