Connor Goldson reveals Rangers formation tweaks as Michael Beale looks to make side more 'fluid'

Connor Goldson has revealed Rangers have been working on new formations in a bid to become more "fluid" as a team.

The central defender said the Light Blues squad have used the international break to work on "different systems" in preparation for the run-in to the end of the season. Michael Beale's side welcome bottom of the table Dundee United to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon hoping a win will put pressure on Celtic, who head to Ross County on Sunday lunchtime.

Ange Postecoglou's Celtic are nine points ahead at the top of the Premiership with nine games to go, however there are still two matches between the pair still to be played in the league. Beale has made the retention of the Scottish Cup an aim with the two sides set to meet in the semi-final at Hampden at the end of the month. Despite the looming fixtures Goldson said all focus from his teammates is on Jim Goodwin's side.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the league game, Goldson opened up on what Rangers have been working on. He said: "We have been working on a few different things in training that we can use in future. We want to be fluid and be able to go in and out of different systems.

"Our focus is on Dundee United this Saturday before we turn our attention to the Old Firm. If we want something from this season we have to perform."
