Shockwaves were sent over the blue half of Glasgow on Saturday morning with news emerging that Rangers vice-captain Connor Goldson will MISS OUT on the crunch clash with Celtic.
Goldson has been integral to Rangers' plans this season, with the centre-back's injury coinciding with Gio van Bronckhorst's dreadful run of form across the autumn months that saw him booted from the Ibrox hotseat. The Englishman has been with the club for almost half a decade, and fan will know how huge a miss he will be, given the influence he has amongst the Gers squad.
And boss Beale spoke on Rangers TV before the game, detailing what exactly it was that Goldson had picked up: "Yeah, right at the end of training yesterday he had a problem with his hip flexor.
"We thought it might be okay but unfortunately not.
"It's a big loss of course, because he's been fantastic since he has come into the team. We'll get a scan on Monday and see the extent of that.
"John [Souttar] has been fit for two months, training well and has been waiting for this opportunity. What a fantastic one it is for him."
