Congressman Chip Roy of Texas has voiced his support for Governor Greg Abbott and other governors who are backing efforts to secure the U.S.-Mexico border. Speaking on the issue, Congressman Roy emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action. He praised Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida for his proactive approach, including sending National Guard troops and providing support to Texas. Congressman Roy also acknowledged the assistance of other governors, such as Governor Stitt, in addressing the border crisis.
However, Congressman Roy made it clear that the Republican Party should not be making deals with the Biden administration on border security. He concurred with former President Donald Trump's stance that no deals should be made and called on House Republicans and Senate Republicans to stand up for the border security issue. Congressman Roy urged House Republicans to initiate a funding fight and not to support the funding of entities like the United Nations, which he claimed indirectly funded groups like Hamas, as well as the Department of Homeland Security led by Alejandro Mayorkas, which is currently suing Texas.
