You cannot unite nation with hatred: RSS to Congress

Joint general secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manmohan Vaidya said the Congress is trying to “connect people with hatred” and that the Opposition party has always been critical of RSS.

Speaking during the culmination of the three-day ‘Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak’ in Raipur on September, Mr. Vaidya asked, “ Bharat Jodo Yatra is a good thing but question is, how are they trying to unite the nation? With love or by spreading hatred?” He added that there is growing support for ‘Hindutva’ in the society and “no one can unite the country with hatred and contempt for RSS.”

“Your Baap-Dade (forefathers) did the same, banned us twice for no fault of our own, but we continue to grow,” he added.

The Congress on September 12 tweeted a picture of a burning pair of khakhi shorts - a part of the RSS uniform earlier, saying, “To free the country from shackles of hate and undo the damage done by BJP-RSS. Step by step, we will reach our goal.” The post was referring to its Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Mr. Vaidya pointed out that Congress has failed to realise that RSS had changed its uniform years ago and they still criticise the ganvesh (uniform).

At the ‘Samanvay Baithak’ that started in Raipur on September 10, attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and BJP president J.P. Nadda among other leaders, the organisation pitched for use of Indian languages in courts so that everyone can read and understand the decisions of courts. Educational institutions should have courses on Hinduism, said RSS office-bearers.

Talking about the expansion of RSS, Mr. Vaidya said that around 90,000 people have expressed interest in joining RSS through the organisation’s website in the first eight months of the ongoing year.

“We are getting huge response from the youth of the country who are willing to know RSS and work with it,” he added.
