Congestion charge should apply at night to put brakes on 'evening rush hour' gridlock in West End

The congestion charge should be reintroduced after 6pm to tackle an increase in West End traffic in the evening, according to eco campaigners.

New data shows there are 56 per cent more cars between 6pm and 7pm – when the C-charge ends and parking restrictions start to lift – than during the morning 8am-9am rush hour.
