There is confusion over where rumours of a Liverpool Eurovision Song Contest cruise ship came from.
Fans have speculated for months that a cruise liner will be docked in Liverpool for the contest, hoping it could ease the accommodation problem. The rumours grew out of control with fans begging for any scraps of information at all regarding how it would work and when they could book a spot on board.

When asked whether or not the rumours were true, the Director of Culture Liverpool, Claire McColgan, told the Liverpool Echo: "No, and we don't quite know where that's come from."
Ms McColgan went on to explain the team searched for the potential to follow up on the speculation but it just wasn't meant to be. She added: "Obviously, we would have loved to have a cruise liner on the waterfront with accommodation and we did make contact with cruise liner companies, but it doesn't work for them commercially and their commercial organisations.
"So while we would have absolutely loved to, no. There's not going to be a cruise."
