Bruno Saltor has been able to do something Graham Potter never could in his first starting lineup as interim Chelsea boss and names N'Golo Kante in his XI for the visit of Liverpool. The Frenchman last started a match against Tottenham all the way back in August.
That is one of two changes the Spaniard has made from Chelsea's defeat to Aston Villa. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mykhailo Mudryk are the two players to make way as Wesley Fofana also comes into the team having missed the weekend's game while managing an injury.
The Blues continue in a back three with Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella maintaining their place in the backline despite their error in the build up to Aston Villa's first goal on Saturday. However, Bruno has opted to go for a midfield three as Kante joins Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez.

That leaves Ben Chilwell and Reece James to provide the width for Chelsea as Joao Felix and Kai Havertz lead the line against a Liverpool defence that is without Virgil van Dijk due to injury.
The return of Fofana, along with Raheem Sterling who makes Chelsea's bench means that Trevoh Chalobah and Carney Chukwuemeka drop out of the squad altogether and miss out alongside Hakim Ziyech, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Denis Zakaria and David Fofana.
Confirmed Chelsea XI: Kepa; Fofana, Koulibaly, Cucurella; James, Enzo Fernandez, Kante, Kovacic, Chilwell; Havertz, Felix.
Substitutes: Mendy; Badiashile; Loftus-Cheek, Gallagher, Mount; Pulisic, Mudryk, Sterling, Madueke
