MUMBAI: A day after a senior International Olympic Committee (IOC) official had expressed the IOC’s disappointment over the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) delay in appointing a full-time CEO, IOC president Thomas Bach said, on Monday, he was confident about the appointment being made soon.
"We had discussions with the newly elected president PT Usha and we were taking stock of the developments. We spoke about the necessary next steps, in particular the appointment of CEO for the IOA," Bach told a press conference at the end of the second day of the 141st IOC Session here. "She was very receptive. She has also undertaken steps within the IOA, so at this moment we are confident that this appointment can come soon."
