KANGRA: The recently installed Early Warning System (EWS) designed to monitor soil movement failed to alert about the impending landslides in Himachal Pradesh (HP) which witnessed heavy rains, causing massive havoc and destruction.
The EWS's inability to provide timely warnings has raised concerns about the effectiveness of disaster preparedness measures making the concerned authorities investigate the system's shortcomings and find solutions to prevent further tragedies.
