There were worrying scenes in Clare this afternoon as the match between Éire Óg and Inagh-Kilnamona as Inagh-Kilnamona centre back Jason McCarthy sustained what appeared to be a serious injury to his leg or ankle.
With Éire Óg cruising as the second half got underway, the injury precipitated a lengthy delay and the game was in limbo for a prolonged spell.
Shane O'Donnell and Danny Russell ran the show in a blistering first half display from Éire Óg. The former had 1-7 before the break while Russell had 1-4 to his name.

That left the scoreboard looking bleak for Inagh-Kilnamona at half-time; 2-15 to 0-07.
But then as the second half came around, a long puck out was contested around the middle and Jason McCarthy rose to gather the high ball - but an awkward landing ended his afternoon and the wait for an ambulance to arrive began.
The waiting crowd were left to wonder and the players were left to deliberate the situation as the game came to a halt.
It is as yet unclear what injury McCarthy sustained, but shortly after 4pm the ambulance arrived to take him away for further treatment.
The game eventually carried on and the end result was no more than what was expected as Éire Óg rattled home the scores and doubled down on their first half dominance.
It finished 2-21 to 0-16 in favour of Éire Óg who will now march on to the semi-final.
