Concerns growing for missing Edinburgh schoolgirl missing more than 24 hours

Concerns are growing for a Scots schoolgirl who has been missing for more than 24 hours. Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace 13-year-old Debbie Payne, from Edinburgh.

The teen disappeared yesterday afternoon in the Craigentinny Road area of the capital. Debbie, who was last seen around noon, also has connections to Livingston.

She is described as 5ft tall, of slim build with long hair, dyed dark purple. When last seen she was wearing a grey jumper, black waistcoat and black leggings.

Edinburgh Police Division said: "We are asking for the help of the public to trace a 13-year-old girl reported missing from Edinburgh who has connections in the Livingston area. Debbie Payne, was last seen in the Craigentinny Road area of the city around 12pm on Tuesday, January 24.

"Concerns are growing for her welfare. Anyone who has seen Debbie or knows where she might be is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 1687 of Tuesday, January 24, 2023."
