Concern growing for welfare of missing Scots man from Isle of Arran

An urgent search has been launched for a missing Scots man who disappeared on the Isle of Arran as concern grows for his welfare.

Police are trying to locate Mariusz Robert Batyra who has been reported missing from Lamlash in the Isle of Arran.

The 49-year-old was last seen around 7.40am on Thursday, June 29, in the St Molios Park area of Lamlash, Arran.

Mariusz is described as being white, around 5ft 10 in height and of stocky build. He has brown greying hair and was last seen wearing grey shorts, a blue jumper/hoodie and a blue/navy Nike rucksack.

Police are urging anyone who has seen Mariusz to get in touch by calling Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 1280 of Saturday, 1 July, 2023.

Inspector Michael Cowan said: “Concerns are growing for Mariusz’ welfare and we want to make sure he is safe and well.

“I am appealing for anyone who has seen Mariusz or who has any information on his whereabouts to please contact us.”
