Concern for ITV Coronation Street character as fans share worry amid Evelyn's return

Coronation Street fans were sharing their worry on Monday night as the soap returned to screens. It was back to Weatherfield for the latest drama as the fallout from Imran Habeeb and Abi Franklin's baby discovery.

Toyah Battersby was left heartbroken during scenes aired last week as she was informed by Kevin Webster that her fiance was the father of Abi's surprise baby, Alfie.

And during the latest trip to the cobbles, Corrie viewers watched as Toyah was crushed further when she was told she wouldn't be able to adopt foster daughter Elsie on her own due to her new personal circumstances, meaning the little girl will soon be taken out of her care to be placed with her 'forever family'.

But there was also another big change on the cobbles as Fiz Stape paid an emotional goodbye to the street, 21 years after being take in by soap stalwart Roy Cropper and his late wife Hayley.

As Fiz packed up her belongings, ex-fiance Tyrone Dobbs lingered around and took a glimpse inside some of the boxes looking for anything that may belong to him. And as he did, Evelyn Plummer made a return alongside her dog, Cerberus, after being absent from screens for several weeks.

She caught her grandson rifling through Fiz's possessions and was quick to poke at him about what he was doing before then asking Tyrone to look after her brown and white greyhound while she ran some errands who was also watching Fiz's van while she went on the hunt for more boxes.

But Corrie fans were left distracted by Cerberus who appeared to be shaking while actors Alan Halsall and Maureen Lipman carried on with their dialogue.

@ScottElliott10 tweeted: "Anyone else notice the dog in #corrie shaking like anything and had it’s tail between its legs? It looked scared stiff @itvcorrie @itv," before following up by saying: "I think we need answers @Ofcom and @itvcorrie @itv @alanhalsall can you shed any light please?"

"That dog is not happy, it’s tail tucked under like that is a clear sign, poor thing. #Corrie," @DebbieTutin commented.

@lauren__tait echoed: "Cerbrus looked terrified today, legs shaking and tail between his legs."

"Is Cerberus okay? He was shaking like a leaf with tail between his legs in that scene with Tyrone and Fiz. Poor pup! #Corrie," @GraceMcGettigan shared.
