SEATTLE - This week in soccer, the first-ever CONCACAF W Gold Cup comes to an end with four teams looking to seal their place in the final. After a surprising group stage, Mexico eliminated Paraguay in the Quarters and will now face Copa América champions Brazil in the Semifinals. The other matchup will be between CONCACAF powerhouses United States and Canada. The last time both teams faced each other in the Semifinals of a competition was during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the Canadians defeating the USWNT 1-0 to advance to the final.
In Liga MX, the two finalists of the Apertura 2023 tournament will square off in the city of Monterrey, as Tigres hosts América. The reigning Liga MX champions have a nine-game unbeaten streak when visiting Tigres in all comps (5-0-4) and have not lost a game to the 'Felinos' away from home since 2017.
